What is Harvard Not For Sale
Harvard Alumni, students and activists from all backgrounds compose the Harvard Not For Sale movement. This movement will seek to shed light and encourage thoughtful discussion on patterns of troubling behavior and lack of moral judgment that have been exhibited specifically by short listed candidates for the position of President at Harvard University.
In almost four centuries of its existence Harvard University has witnessed eras ranging from the American Revolution, Civil War to both World Wars and has remained the top university in the world. Throughout its existence, Harvard has claimed to be a standard for academic and moral excellence.
However, there have been increasing cases of conflicts of interest, greed and misuse of power within Harvard and particularly Harvard Business School over the recent years, that Harvard alumni, students and activists can no longer ignore.
”Integrity is not a conditional word. It doesn't blow in the wind or change with the weather. It is your inner image of yourself, and if you look in there and see a man who won't cheat, then you know he never will.”
John D. MacDonald
Much of these wildly unethical conflicts of interest have been largely unreported or presstituted seemingly due to self preservation of the brand alumni and students have paid so dearly for. Silence has been taken as weakness and has encouraged the plutocrats to connive and weave agendas detrimental to the interest of our institution.
HarvardNotForSale.com will work to bring these stories to light, put forward views and encourage on campus forums to discuss the most pressing issues which directly affect the Harvard community and broader academic and business communities as the University prepares to select its next President in the spring of 2018.
The movement is headed by Harvard Alumni, students and activists from all backgrounds. The movement will seek to shed light and encourage thoughtful discussion on patterns of troubling behavior and lack of moral judgement that have been exhibited specifically by short listed candidates for the position of the President of Harvard University.
As US President John Adams correctly stated, “Because power corrupts, society’s demands for moral authority and character increase as the importance of the position increases.” The position of President of Harvard University is arguably the most important position in all of academia.
Because power corrupts, society's demands for moral authority and character increase as the importance of the position increases.
